Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Dr. Elaine Boosalis Toaddy completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Iowa, earning a Bachelor of Science in Human Physiology. During her time, she was a competitive swimmer and was recognized as a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar-Athlete.

She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, where she demonstrated a strong commitment to leadership, service, and academic excellence. During dental school, she served as Vice President of her class and was actively involved in student leadership. Her accomplishments were recognized with honors, including the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Kramer Award, and multiple Dean’s Leadership Awards.

Following dental school, Dr. Boosalis Toaddy completed a General Practice Residency in Bethesda, Maryland. She then served five years in the United States Navy Dental Corps, where she gained extensive experience providing comprehensive dental care and leading multidisciplinary teams. In her role as Assistant Department Head at Navy Medicine Readiness Training Command Great Lakes, she helped oversee clinical operations for a large team delivering care to thousands of Navy recruits annually. Her service was recognized with multiple distinctions, including the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and designation as a Fleet Marine Force Warfare Officer.

Dr. Boosalis Toaddy is currently completing her Orthodontic Residency and Master of Science degree at the University of Iowa, with anticipated graduation in June 2026. In recognition of her leadership and clinical excellence, she was selected by faculty and peers to serve as Chief Resident of her orthodontic class. Her prior experience as a general dentist, combined with her specialty training, provides a comprehensive and collaborative approach to patient care and interdisciplinary treatment.

Outside of the office, Dr. Boosalis Toaddy enjoys spending time with her husband, Andrew, being outdoors, traveling, and being with family and friends
